Favorite Skincare Products

Over the last month or two my skincare routine has taken priority in my life. I was recently on some medication that made my skin breakout like crazy...and the normal face wash just wasn't cutting it. Also, I'm getting old. Go ahead, roll your eyes. But on March 20th I'll be 36 (ahhh!!!)...so if I don't start treating my skin with extra care I know I'll just be paying for it later on in life. And who wants to look like they are 60 when they are 40? Not me!

Here are my current favorite skincare items in my medicine cabinet.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer in Pink Grapefruit- I love this stuff. I think moisturizer is definitely needed in my beauty routine, but sometimes it can just be a little too greasy. And greasy is the last thing you want when your skin is breaking out. I use this moisturizer in the morning before I put my makeup on and also before I go to bed. Added bonus: it smells so yummy!

Foreo LUNA mini 2 Fuchsia + Day & Night Cleansers- I have never been so happy to purchase a beauty product. I'll be honest, this wasn't exactly cheap. But I had two Sephora gift cards and a Visa gift card so I thought, what the heck! What is so great about this cleansing brush? Not only is it great for every skin type, but it also combines 8,000 T-sonic pulsations per minute. Also, it stays charged for five months at a time and the rubber bristles never need to be replaced (unlike other cleansing brushes where you need to replace the brush heads). I use this every morning and every night and the difference it is making in my skin is remarkable.

Masksheets from Besfren Beauty- I have recently discovered Korean beauty products. Luckily I work super close to Koreatown in Manhattan and I can wander through the amazing little shops in that neighborhood during my lunch break. My all time favorite shop has to be Besfren Beauty. Not only is the shop adorable (if you are in NYC stop on by it's on 32nd Street between Fifth and Madison...closer to Fifth), the people that work there are so very helpful. For someone that doesn't speak/read Korean these beauty products can be kind of intimidating. They also have amazing deals! Every time I have gone I have gotten some serious discounts. If you aren't in NYC, no worries...they have a website you can shop on too! Just click the link above. I use a mask twice a week on my face. I actually ran out of masks for about a week or so and I could seriously feel the difference (and dryness!) in my skin. These products actually make my skin feel years younger.

Scent Of A Woman

Truth be told, I never buy perfume. I think every single bottle of perfume I own has come from my mom as a birthday or Christmas gift. Seriously. Every single bottle. And the crazy thing is I'm very particular when it comes to scents. I like my fragrances to be light and smelling like citrus, rose, and/or baby powder. Anything heavy or like vanilla just makes me want to gag. So kudos to my mom for always finding the perfect scents for me.

For Christmas this year my mom gifted me this amazing Daisy Rollerball Trio by Marc Jacobs. I'm obsessed with it! The Eau so Fresh (pink) is my favorite, followed by the Daisy Dream (clear).

Have you tried this trio yet? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. What fragrances are your current favorites???

Quick side note, isn't this perfume bottle printed dress the cutest?

Please note that this is not a sponsored post. Just wanted to share my current favorite scent with you all.

End of Season Sales

One thing I love about working in Midtown Manhattan is that on my lunch breaks I can go for a walk and shop at my favorite stores. The one thing I hate about working in Midtown Manhattan is that over my lunch breaks I can shop till I drop (all my money!) at my favorite stores. Ugh! The struggle is real guys! So you know I was pleasantly surprised this past week when I stopped by some of my go to stores and saw that everyone is having huge end of season sales and sales on new collections.

United We March

Yesterday was crazy. In the morning I thought I was going to just have a quiet afternoon at home with no real plans. A friend of mine made a decision yesterday morning to attend the Women's March in NYC. I went back and forth with the idea of joining her all morning...should I attend (I wanted to!)...but my anxiety about mass crowds can be kind of overwhelming. Yes, I may live in NYC...but crowds of 400,000 (!) are a whole new ballgame. So, at 12:10pm I made the decision to join her. I had 50 minute to make a sign and get to midtown with her. Ahhh...the pressure was on!

I have to say, my last minute decision to join her was one of the best I ever made. We joined the old and young, men and women, and people of every race and ethnicity all in solidarity expressing how important women's rights are. Everyone was so insanely polite, smiles were seen, and laughter among strangers was heard. It was such an amazing experience that I am so proud to say I was a part of. It was a historic day that not only made me proud to be a New Yorker, but proud to be an American.

Be sure to stop by my social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat (follow me: snapshotfashion) to see about my adventures yesterday.

Did you march yesterday? I would love to hear your stories!

Secret Style Tip: Fleece Lined Tights

So many people think I'm crazy for wearing dresses during a NYC winter. They definitely think I've lost my mind when I say that I'm actually warmer in tights than pants. How can that be??? My secret weapon (besides a really warm parka) is a pair of fleece lined tights.

After years of freezing during the chilly winter months I finally discovered fleece lined tights last year. They are my favorite. I think I currently have four pair of them and I can't think of anything else I'd rather wear on a freezing day. They feel like a really warm pair of super soft sweatpants...sooooo cuddly!

So I know some of you might prefer layering and others swear by Heattech pieces, but I strongly suggest you give fleece lined tights a try. Because then you can still wear a stylish dress and you won't have boring pieces or bulky layers getting into the mix.

How do you stay warm and fashionable during the winters?

Have you tried fleece lined tights yet? If so, I'd love to hear your take on them!
