I Heart NYC

As many of you know I have lived in NYC for quite some time. Chris and I even moved away for a few years and moved back. I thought it would be fun to tell you my top ten favorite things to do in NYC.

1. The best food you can imagine. Also, any food you can imagine!

2. Walking along the waterfront in Brooklyn and overlooking the Manhattan skyline.

3. All the fun events! For instance, next weekend I'm going to a croissant tasting event with my friend Rachel. I mean, where else do you get to do fun and random stuff like that?

4. Sample sales! These are always going on (and typically a lot of them happen near my office in Midtown) and you can get the most amazing deals. If you haven't been to one before you gotta check one out!

5. NYC has amazing coffee shops. I was talking to a friend over the holidays when we were both back home visiting our parents and we said that coffee culture is definitely something our hometown is lacking. Here in NYC you can find some seriously amazing spots for a caffeine fix.

6. Dog parks are the best. They are definitely one of Rocko's favorite places in the city. We spend a lot of our time there during the spring and summer.

7. New York Fashion Week is one of the perks about living here. I can attend events and shows as they fit into my schedule which is great. I cannot wait for NYFW next month!

8. You might not think that farmer's markets in a city are any good...but they are so amazing!

9. As much as I hate the subway sometimes, easy access to public transportation is great. It gets you where you want to be super fast (when there aren't delays that is!).

10. THE CULTURE!!! On any given day I can go to a museum or see a Broadway show or soak up some local history.

What do you love most about NYC?!?!

Let It Snow!

So this morning my husband and I decided to go outside and take some photos but Mother Nature was not going to cooperate with us. It started snowing (which I hate)...but I decided to grin and bear it because I had to show you all this fun outfit! Oh the things I do for you guys!

With it almost being New Year's Eve, I thought I would do my own little countdown of my ten best moments of 2017.

10. Having our nephew spend some time with us this summer. It was fun seeing the city through his eyes...not to mention every single public bathroom NYC has to offer.

9. Discovering a bunch of new food, restaurants, and bars in the city. You think that we've been here long enough that there are very few things we can try that are new and exciting to us. Jaded New Yorkers...that we are. But This year I tried kimbab (or as some say kimbap, gimbap, or kimbob), found a hidden pinball bar behind a secret door in a laundromat, drank a deconstructed latte, and perfected making my avocado toast.

8. Finally seeing Wicked on Broadway! Yeah, I know I'm like the last person to see this show...but it was perfect and such a great birthday present from my sweetie.

7. Cheering on one of my dear friends as she ran the NYC Marathon. Such an amazing accomplishment for her...and I have to say, our cheer section was pretty epic.

6. Taking part in the Women's March in NYC. I almost didn't attend since I'm not really a fan of crowds, but this was one of the most meaningful experiences I ever had.

5. This might not seem like a best moment to some...but when I healed from my burst appendix. The fact that my body was able to be strong enough to deal with my appendix literally bursting off (they can't even find it now) and not even needing surgery is pretty amazing. I overcame something that could have easily killed me, and now I'm on a mission to keep my body even stronger and healthier than ever.

4. A fantastic trip to Montreal. Even though the weather was terrible we had a great time in that city. Not only did we eat some of the best food ever there (if you're going I can tell you an place for delicious fried chicken), we also saw an awesome show that Franz Ferdinand put on. It was probably one of my favorite concert experiences I have ever had.

3. NYFW F/W 2017 and NYFW S/S 2018. So many shows, so many parties, and great times with friends. I cannot wait for February to roll around so I can do it all over again!

2. My trip to Spain. We had such a wonderful time in Granada and Barcelona, and I cannot wait to go back some day. We had the best food and saw the most beautiful architecture. These memories will live with me forever.

1. Responding to all the sweet comments, kind emails, and encouraging messages from my readers! You guys are all so awesome and make me want to keep putting my all into Snapshot Fashion. I appreciate how you've all hung in there over my slow posts the last couple months...and to all of you that have been with me since this blogging journey started nine and a half years ago! xoxo

What were your best moments of 2017?

Daisy Daze

Two things I love: daisies and a black & white color combo. So when I came across this adorable swing dress at Lord & Taylor the other week you know I had to buy it!

The cool thing about this dress is that from far away it looks like polka dots, but up close it is a fun daisy pattern.

I hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend. Yesterday was so very busy (Rocko had a grooming appointment, we went out for brunch, we made a cooking video, and went to a wine tasting) that today we are just going to take it easy. Meeting up with a friend later on...and just chillin'. Sounds like a great day to me!

What do you guys have planned?

Foxes & Fringe

I may be in my mid-30's, but that doesn't stop me from wearing dresses with adorable prints on them. I just picked up this super sweet fox print dress at a local boutique (Bodhi on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg) and I love it so much!

Aren't these fringe sandals so fun? I have to admit, I totally took advantage of the 30% off sale Lord and Taylor was having last week. Not only are they super comfy and unique, they also come in a number of colors. They have a 20% promo code currently running on them...so grab them while you can!

What are your feelings on clothing with bold prints on them like this? Do you wear prints proudly...or shy away? Even though the majority of my clothing is black, I have to say that when I do wear prints or color I tend to go bold.

GO BOLD OR GO HOME! Right?

Scent Of A Woman

Truth be told, I never buy perfume. I think every single bottle of perfume I own has come from my mom as a birthday or Christmas gift. Seriously. Every single bottle. And the crazy thing is I'm very particular when it comes to scents. I like my fragrances to be light and smelling like citrus, rose, and/or baby powder. Anything heavy or like vanilla just makes me want to gag. So kudos to my mom for always finding the perfect scents for me.

For Christmas this year my mom gifted me this amazing Daisy Rollerball Trio by Marc Jacobs. I'm obsessed with it! The Eau so Fresh (pink) is my favorite, followed by the Daisy Dream (clear).

Have you tried this trio yet? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. What fragrances are your current favorites???

Quick side note, isn't this perfume bottle printed dress the cutest?

Please note that this is not a sponsored post. Just wanted to share my current favorite scent with you all.
