Golden Globes 2017- What They Should Wear

Award season is here!!! You all know that the Golden Globes is my favorite awards show out of the bunch...I mean, TV & movies! It doesn't get much better than that. Not only will I be cheering on La La Land, This Is Us, and The People vs. OJ, but I will be following every step on that red carpet. If I were the stylist of the stars I would be dressing my clients in the following looks-

Natalie Portman in Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017

Mandy Moore in Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2017

Emma Stone in Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017

Lily Collins in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2017

Sarah Paulson in Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2017

What movies/shows/fashions will you be rooting for tonight?

Be sure to follow my Twitter tonight during the red carpet as I will be live tweeting...and maybe I'll make a live Instagram appearance as well. See ya tonight!

New Year, New Me

Happy New Year to all of my readers! I hope everyone had a lovely New Year's Eve and is taking it easy today. If you're like me you're trying to get your 2017 started off on the right foot. Okay, okay...maybe I didn't go to the gym today...and maybe I ate some insane stuffed French toast while out at brunch...but I swear I have good intentions for this new year.

Sure I have the typical resolutions that I have every year...but this year I think I'll have some style resolutions as well. So far I have two:

  1. Start wearing some bolder colors. Yes I always am wearing black...and I don't think that will ever stop. But Adding some fun prints and bold hues will make life a little less drab. Take this dress for instance. It's anything but boring, but it still has some black in it so I don't feel too out of my comfort zone.
  2. Try some new hair and makeup looks. I have to admit, I am obsessed with a bold red lip and cat eyes and curly hair. Maybe this year I will switch it up every once and a while...or really perfect my signature look. Any ideas on what hair/makeup trend I should try next?

I think the start of a new year is a great time to try a new look, step outside your comfort zone, and reinvent yourself. Do you have any style resolutions for the new year?

Gift Guide: Subscription Boxes

Some people are practically impossible to shop for. When you ask them what they want they can't even give you a few ideas. Makes shopping super difficult, right? Trust me, I have had a few of these this year. Even though I was able to get my shopping done if it happens again I might go the route of the subscription box. I have given these a few times in the past and they were always a hit. Here are some of my favorites (some I have tried, and some I really want to).

BarkBox- This is perfect for the pet or pet lover in your life. Subscriptions start at $35 for one month.

Birchbox- Always a go to for the person in your life that is into hair, makeup, and skincare. This subscription box is super affordable (starting at $10 a month) and the samples they provide are top notch. Don't forget they have subscription boxes available for men too.

Dollar Shave Club- This is perfect for the man in your life! Razors are expensive and having fresh ones sent to you all the time would make anyone feel pampered. Packages start at 3 months for $55.

BuddiBox- This box is perfect for the yogi in your life. This gift box has deluxe samples and full-size yoga products starting at $34.95 + $5 shipping a month.

We all know someone that loves to cook. Why not treat them with great gifts they can use and enjoy in the kitchen. Hey, if they are happy in the kitchen maybe they'll make you something extra delicious. That's always what I aim for anyway!

Deco Dot Tea Kettle by Kate Spade New York- $50

Not only is this tea kettle adorable (I can't get enough of polka-dots) but on the whistle it is engraved with: whistle while you work. I mean how cute it that? Then again, when is something by Kate Spade not cute? NEVER!

Sweet Cupcake Hostess Apron available at Stone Flower- $29.95

One thing every cook needs is an apron. What is even better than a regular old apron? One as cute as this! Cooking should be all about having fun in the kitchen...starting with your apron.

Set of 5 Baker Nesting Bowls available at Crate & Barrel- $39.95

We actually have bowls similar to this. Ours too are from Crate & Barrel and have lasted us for just shy of a decade...and we use them all the time. When the ones that we have finally break we most certainly will buy another set like this from Crate & Barrel. They hold up!

Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Round Dutch Oven, 3 1/2 Quart available at Williams-Sonoma- currently on sale for $169.95

If you cook a lot and don't own a Dutch oven you are seriously missing out. From soup to bread, you can use this for just about anything! And at a price like this you better get one while you can.
