Keeping It Casual

Hello dear readers! Many apologies for the brief hiatus. As most of you who have been following my Instagram feed know, I was just released from the hospital last week. My appendix had burst and I was stuck there for some time. I'm doing a lot better now (as you can see in the photos below), but I still have to have surgery in a little over a month from now. So I'm not out of the woods yet. But until then I'm going to put a smile on my face as I am so happy to be home with my husband and pup...and also so very happy that autumn keeps teasing us with cool mornings...which I love!

I have been trying to incorporate some more casual pieces into my wardrobe lately. You'd really be stunned if you saw all the dresses in my closet. Yes, I typically wear them on the weekends too. I do this because finding a pair of jeans that actually fits me is to difficult. These high waisted slim flare jeans in black are so great because you can dress them up or dress them down. I'm obsessed with them!

I decided to pair them with this adorable sweatshirt. Isn't it just too cute? Leopard print, 3/4 sleeves, and not too big or baggy. It's the dressiest sweatshirt I own. Okay, It's probably the only sweatshirt I own...but I love it!

Last month during New York Fashion Week I was invited to the launch party for LF/LIFE. It was such a fun party...one of the best parts being that they had a shoe bar there. I picked out these fantastic gold loafers. Personally, I think you can never go wrong with a metallic shoe (trust me on this, I have silver, metallic pink, and now gold). LF/LIFE's shoes are so comfy...I have been living in these loafers ever since the party.

Here's to a comfy, cool, and casual weekend. Hope you all have a good one!

Maple Holistics- Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

A few weeks ago my friends at Maple Holistics sent over their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo for me to try out. I have been using it ever since and have noticed that my hair is looking better than ever. There are a number of therapeutic benefits in natural tea tree oil, including the improvement of hair and scalp health while promoting hair growth and even slowing hair loss. Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp! This Tea Tree Oil Shampoo is cruelty-free, parabens-free, GMO-free, gluten free and made in the USA. It also smells amazing!

What exactly is tea tree oil? Tea tree is a shrub grown in Australia that is extracted through steam distillation for pure results. This shampoo has rosemary and lavender oil in it which not only gives it a delightful scent, but rosemary oil stimulates cell renewal of hair follicles and lavender oil keeps the scalp healthy and blemish free.

Maple Holistics also has an amazing free samples program that is definitely worth checking out. Just follow the link and fill out the form.

What is your favorite Maple Holistics product?

69th Annual Emmy Awards- What I Hope They Wear

I seriously cannot believe the Emmy's are tomorrow night already. While many of you may be tuning in to see who will be walking away with an award, but you know I'm way more interested in seeing what my favorite stars are wearing. Here's a list of what I hope Hollywood is rocking on the red carpet.

I really think this year we'll be seeing a lot of bold colors, sequins, and delicate details. What do you hope your favorite stars will be wearing?

NYFW- Francesca Liberatore

This morning I attended the Francesca Liberatore Spring/Summer 2018 runway show and it was full of flowing fabrics, bold prints, beautiful colors, and lace.

Femininity took over this show. The addition of lace, silk, and ruffles brought a ladylike feel to some of her menswear inspired pieces.

Francesca Liberatore's collection was inspired by time travel, the Middle East, watch mechanisms, rural America, plane engines, Antoinette's France, and beauty resplendent in all of her forms.

NYFW- Greta Constantine

New York Fashion Week has officially started! Tonight I was lucky enough to attend Greta Constantine's Spring/Summer 2018 presentation. It was absolutely fabulous. So rarely do I attend a show and actually love every piece in the collection. Now if i can just make some more room in my closet...

This collection by the Toronto based duo of Greta Constantine (Stephen Wong and Kirk Pickergill) is full of vibrant colors, sparkling sequins, full tulle, and flowing fabrics. The juxtaposition between menswear pieces and the tulle skirts shows the true range of the designers and their line.

Pickersgill and Wong work together in their Toronto based studio- conceptualizing, exploring, and challenging the fashions of today for the women of tomorrow.

This was Greta Constatine's first NYFW, having traditionally shown in Paris. They invaded New York with their Canadian-Girl-Gang (yes, the models are also from Canada). I have to say, they have definitely started off my NYFW with a bang!

My two favorite looks of the night have to be the gold sequin Bogdan jumpsuit with angel style sleeves and the gold sequin Ordell dress with the black silk wool teacup style skirt and black tulle Crinoline. Which looks are your favorite???

Please be sure to follow my Insta-story and my Snapchat for some other photos and video of the presentation.
