Pops of Color

It’s no secret that the majority of my wardrobe is black…and I love it that way. Call it being lazy…call it being practical…call it being a New Yorker. But adding pops of color in your outwear and accessories makes everything so much more fun. Don’t you agree?

Adding some color really adds something special to any look. I have long black coats, black purses, and the same Sam Edelman Chelsea boots in black…but I felt like standing out today, just a little bit.

What I adore about this bag is the practicality of it. Crossbody bags are always high on the list of my favorite things…but this one has a removeable crossbody strap so you have different options on how you wear it.

Running to grab some coffee in the early morning was never so effortless yet so pulled together. I’m obsessed with teddy bear coats in general…but this pink one just screams my name. It’s super warm, comfy, and bold (but in a good way). It’s different than all the other teddy bear coats I’ve seen out there. Why blend in when you can stand out? Am I right or what???

I want to know, how do YOU wear color in your looks?

Summer Dots

Summer officially arrived yesterday…and I’m not going to lie, I’m already counting down the days until fall (autumn is my favorite season). I hate being hot, but one thing that is keeping me cool is this adorable linen polka dot skirt that I bought out of my friend Nicole’s (aka Darling in Dots) closet.

This summer is going to look a little different for me, and I’m sure many of you. With COVID-19 still infecting people every day, I personally still don’t feel very comfortable outside for long amounts of time. It’s so hot under my mask (I took it off for one minute to snap these photos) that I would just prefer to go sit in my air conditioned apartment.

I will be sad that this summer will have no BBQs, no rooftop parties, no concerts…it’s going to be boring. But if that means it will keep me healthy, I’m okay with that. I might be going overboard with keeping my social distance, but with all the health issues I have I just can’t afford to chance anything.

So until this virus is GONE i will continue to wear polka dots, go on morning walks before the crowds in my neighborhood grow and the summer sun gets too hot, and enjoy the extra time with my dog and my husband as we’ve all been quarantined together since March…and I really would not want it any other way.

How are you planning on enjoying your summer?

Let's Be Real

If anything has come from IG-gate (yes, that’s what I’ll call it), is that going forward I want to be completely honest with my readers and keep it real. So often with blogging we get caught up behind smoke and mirrors and feel the pressure to keep things looking amazing to entertain and inspire our readers. But I’m not perfect, and neither is life. This is me, being me. Comfortable, at home…casual, and frizzy hair.

I feel like me losing 8 years of work and all my contacts on my Instagram platform and having to start again from scratch makes me feel stripped down and vulnerable. But I think I’m going to just go with the flow. For someone like myself taking things day by day and being easy going doesn’t come easy.

I like to plan. I like to be a step ahead. Most of my friends would not ever describe me as spontaneous. But I think maybe this all happened for a reason and I need to just embrace it and I hope you all come along for the ride.

I hope you all stay with me, and let me know what you want to see from the new and improved Snapshot Fashion and my very newly created snapshotfashionNYC Instagram account. Help be a part of the creative process! Leave me some comments or DM me. I’d love to hear from you.

Getting Comfy

I don’t know about all of you, but I have been wearing the same few items in my closet for the last three weeks or so. Loose-fitting, elastic waistbands, soft cotton, lots of stretch. Since we’ll probably still be in lock down for the next couple months my eye has been looking for some more comfy clothing that I can wear. Here are some of my top picks…

Back In Black

You guys know this all too well…but I just love wearing black. But who says black has to be boring? Adding some pleats, a cute belt, sparkle flats, and a puffy headband keeps this look fresh and fun.

Do you have a color you are drawn to and wear all the time? How do you keep it from looking boring?
