Hard Candy Be Bold Glitter Mascara

Hard Candy sent over some of their new Be Bold mascara line for me to try out. Their new bold colored and glitter mascaras come in 10 great shades. Here I'm trying out their two glitter top coats in Shooting Star and Disco Ball.

Samples were provided, but this review is my own personal opinion on the products.

Shown above I'm wearing Shooting Star. I thought it would be best to use this hue in a daytime look. The sparkles were very subtle...but had a slight sparkle in the right light. Glitter in daytime perfection!

Here I am showing you how I wear Disco Ball in an evening look. This was much more glittery so I thought it would be fun to pair it with a dark eye and bare lip.

What I loved most about these glitter top coats is that they didn't clump, added a little sparkle without being overwhelming, and are only $5 a pop! You can't go wrong. Also, for those of you that freak out about glitter getting everywhere, this was actually super easy to remove. With a slight swipe of a makeup remover wipe it came right off with little effort.

Be sure to look for these fun mascaras at your local Walmart in Spring of 2018.

Fox in a Box by Hard Candy

One thing I always have in my makeup drawer is a good bronzer. A hint of golden color on my cheeks adds so much to my every day look. Also, when you are as pale as I am a touch of color goes a long way!

My friends at Hard Candy sent over some of their new scented marbleized baked powders called Fox in a Box (available at Walmart, $7) for me to try. I honestly don't know which one I love most. They give a great golden color and smell amazing!

This formula delivers multi dimensional yet sheer and buildable color. This gives you a natural and healthy glow. Also, with scents like chocolate, peach, and pina colada you'll have a hard time picking your favorite!

Do you love bronzers as much as I do? Be sure to give these a try!

Their Plumping Serum comes in 24 great shades that instantly look great on their own or over your favorite shade of lipstick. My friends at Hard Candy sent over two of their new shades (first kiss and skin deep) for me to try.

To be honest, I don't really need too much extra plump in my pucker. I've been blessed with rather full lips and often find that lip treatments that claim it plumps rarely works for me. But I have to say that, this one did add a little extra fullness. The gloss went one great and the colors were super flattering. I can't wait to throw these two shades into my lip hue rotation!

Tips for the Perfect Curls

I never used to curl my hair. Ever. Any time I tried this look the curls would not last. I would think that my hair type just wouldn't work with curls. What I didn't realize is that I was going about getting this look all wrong. It took many years, lots of trial and error, and some good products to get my locks where they are today. I thought I'd help save you all the hassle I went through and just give you my secrets to bouncy curls.

1) Start with dirty hair. Yes, dirty hair is a must! I find that when I try to curl freshly washed hair the curls just do not hold. Save your curls for hair that is two or three days after it has been washed.

2) Add in proper products. I always make sure to add in a heat protective spray and either some coconut oil spray or keratin oil spray. This helps your strands stay strong through the heat and keeps them full of shine.

3) Use a curling wand. Toss those curling irons away! Wands are where it's at! Not sure what the difference is? A curling iron has a clamp that can make your curls look like those worn by Shirley Temple. A wand is clamp-free and gives you loose curls which look much more natural. I tend to use a 1" or 1.25" wand. Obviously the larger the barrel the looser the curl.

4) Use a good hairspray. In my mind this is the most important step. You obviously want a hairspray that will hold your style, but you don't want your hair being crunchy either. I have my go to (if you want to know, shoot me a DM via Instagram), but would love to know if you have a favorite hairspray.

I hope these four simple steps help you with getting the best curls of your life!
