End of Season Sales

One thing I love about working in Midtown Manhattan is that on my lunch breaks I can go for a walk and shop at my favorite stores. The one thing I hate about working in Midtown Manhattan is that over my lunch breaks I can shop till I drop (all my money!) at my favorite stores. Ugh! The struggle is real guys! So you know I was pleasantly surprised this past week when I stopped by some of my go to stores and saw that everyone is having huge end of season sales and sales on new collections.

United We March

Yesterday was crazy. In the morning I thought I was going to just have a quiet afternoon at home with no real plans. A friend of mine made a decision yesterday morning to attend the Women's March in NYC. I went back and forth with the idea of joining her all morning...should I attend (I wanted to!)...but my anxiety about mass crowds can be kind of overwhelming. Yes, I may live in NYC...but crowds of 400,000 (!) are a whole new ballgame. So, at 12:10pm I made the decision to join her. I had 50 minute to make a sign and get to midtown with her. Ahhh...the pressure was on!

I have to say, my last minute decision to join her was one of the best I ever made. We joined the old and young, men and women, and people of every race and ethnicity all in solidarity expressing how important women's rights are. Everyone was so insanely polite, smiles were seen, and laughter among strangers was heard. It was such an amazing experience that I am so proud to say I was a part of. It was a historic day that not only made me proud to be a New Yorker, but proud to be an American.

Be sure to stop by my social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat (follow me: snapshotfashion) to see about my adventures yesterday.

Did you march yesterday? I would love to hear your stories!

Secret Style Tip: Fleece Lined Tights

So many people think I'm crazy for wearing dresses during a NYC winter. They definitely think I've lost my mind when I say that I'm actually warmer in tights than pants. How can that be??? My secret weapon (besides a really warm parka) is a pair of fleece lined tights.

After years of freezing during the chilly winter months I finally discovered fleece lined tights last year. They are my favorite. I think I currently have four pair of them and I can't think of anything else I'd rather wear on a freezing day. They feel like a really warm pair of super soft sweatpants...sooooo cuddly!

So I know some of you might prefer layering and others swear by Heattech pieces, but I strongly suggest you give fleece lined tights a try. Because then you can still wear a stylish dress and you won't have boring pieces or bulky layers getting into the mix.

How do you stay warm and fashionable during the winters?

Have you tried fleece lined tights yet? If so, I'd love to hear your take on them!

Golden Globes 2017- What They Should Wear

Award season is here!!! You all know that the Golden Globes is my favorite awards show out of the bunch...I mean, TV & movies! It doesn't get much better than that. Not only will I be cheering on La La Land, This Is Us, and The People vs. OJ, but I will be following every step on that red carpet. If I were the stylist of the stars I would be dressing my clients in the following looks-

Natalie Portman in Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017

Mandy Moore in Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2017

Emma Stone in Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017

Lily Collins in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2017

Sarah Paulson in Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2017

What movies/shows/fashions will you be rooting for tonight?

Be sure to follow my Twitter tonight during the red carpet as I will be live tweeting...and maybe I'll make a live Instagram appearance as well. See ya tonight!

New Year, New Me

Happy New Year to all of my readers! I hope everyone had a lovely New Year's Eve and is taking it easy today. If you're like me you're trying to get your 2017 started off on the right foot. Okay, okay...maybe I didn't go to the gym today...and maybe I ate some insane stuffed French toast while out at brunch...but I swear I have good intentions for this new year.

Sure I have the typical resolutions that I have every year...but this year I think I'll have some style resolutions as well. So far I have two:

  1. Start wearing some bolder colors. Yes I always am wearing black...and I don't think that will ever stop. But Adding some fun prints and bold hues will make life a little less drab. Take this dress for instance. It's anything but boring, but it still has some black in it so I don't feel too out of my comfort zone.
  2. Try some new hair and makeup looks. I have to admit, I am obsessed with a bold red lip and cat eyes and curly hair. Maybe this year I will switch it up every once and a while...or really perfect my signature look. Any ideas on what hair/makeup trend I should try next?

I think the start of a new year is a great time to try a new look, step outside your comfort zone, and reinvent yourself. Do you have any style resolutions for the new year?
