NYFW- Greta Constantine

New York Fashion Week has officially started! Tonight I was lucky enough to attend Greta Constantine's Spring/Summer 2018 presentation. It was absolutely fabulous. So rarely do I attend a show and actually love every piece in the collection. Now if i can just make some more room in my closet...

This collection by the Toronto based duo of Greta Constantine (Stephen Wong and Kirk Pickergill) is full of vibrant colors, sparkling sequins, full tulle, and flowing fabrics. The juxtaposition between menswear pieces and the tulle skirts shows the true range of the designers and their line.

Pickersgill and Wong work together in their Toronto based studio- conceptualizing, exploring, and challenging the fashions of today for the women of tomorrow.

This was Greta Constatine's first NYFW, having traditionally shown in Paris. They invaded New York with their Canadian-Girl-Gang (yes, the models are also from Canada). I have to say, they have definitely started off my NYFW with a bang!

My two favorite looks of the night have to be the gold sequin Bogdan jumpsuit with angel style sleeves and the gold sequin Ordell dress with the black silk wool teacup style skirt and black tulle Crinoline. Which looks are your favorite???

Please be sure to follow my Insta-story and my Snapchat for some other photos and video of the presentation.

Just Around the Corner: NYFW

I hope you all are having a great Labor Day! I have to say, it's been so great having a four day weekend. But instead of occupying my weekend with beaches, BBQ's, and the stress of should you or shouldn't you wear white after Labor Day, I'm anticipating New York Fashion Week!

I can't believe New York Fashion Week is here already. I have a few shows and events I'll be heading to this week and next. So if you are attending anything let me know! It's so rare that I get a plus one to anything at NYFW...and it's always way more fun to know people who are in attendance. Also, if you are in town and want to meet up for a coffee or cocktail before or in between shows just let me know. NYFW is always such a great time to meet other bloggers.

Walk on the Wild Side

With fall just around the corner I'm starting to slip some key fall pieces into my wardrobe...like booties. It's such an easy way to start transitioning your wardrobe. I picked up three pairs of booties this past week...and I'm wearing them constantly. Also, they all have huge chunky heels which I love because they are easy to walk around the city in, and they make me crazy tall.

Who says simple has to be boring? When I saw this relatively simple black dress I knew I had to add it to my wardrobe. It's very simple and comfortable, but the cut out feature along the neckline and the draping elevates it to the next level.

I also paired it with my new chunky booties and fishnet ankle socks for that added edge factor. I've been wanting to try this fishnet sock trend for some time now. Here I incorporated them into this look as my accessory. No bold jewelry or flashy handbag needed.

How do you add some fun and personality to what could be a very basic outfit?

Velvet Crush

Forget the summer of George, this autumn will be George Costanza's time to shine. He once said that he'd drape himself in velvet if it were socially acceptable. This fall is ALL ABOUT VELVET!

Fresh & Fruity

Fruit prints, navy & red, and a cute dog had Nicole and myself feeling happy today. Well, as happy as you can be after your camera's battery immediately craps out at the beginning of a photoshoot. Who knew you had to replace rechargeable batteries?!?!

Know what I love? Finding a dress in my closet that I bought last year at the end of the season and totally forgot I had. Isn't this striped strawberry dress the cutest?

Aren't we just too adorable in our fruit prints? Nicole swears this is the summer of watermelon...but I'm trying to keep things berry fresh!  :-)

I hope you all are enjoying the little bit of summer we have left. Soon I'll be saying farewell to summer Fridays, frozen cocktails, and cute summer dresses...but autumn will be here and that makes me very happy. Not only is it my favorite season, but Chris and I will be heading to Spain (Granada & Barcelona). So if you have any tips for our trip shoot me an email or leave a comment below!
