I’m obsessed with this dress. it’s light weight, has a bold yet fun print, and even has pockets. This particular dress which is available on Amazon only costs $27.99! It also comes in 36 different prints and colors, so there is a style for everyone’s taste. I might have to pick up a few more because they are all so unique.

What do you think of the nightgown dress style? Would you give it a try?

Also, don’t forget to wear your masks! I took these photos early morning on an empty street with nobody around. I may be fully vaccinated, but when I’m in contact with others I make sure to mask up. I love the fabric masks from Old Navy which I’m wearing here. I must have 30 of them!

Five Ways I Save Money When I Shop

If you are already following me on TikTok you would have likely seen this video. However, for the rest of my readers I wanted to share my tips here to give you all a thorough understanding on my favorite ways to save. And I mean, who doesn’t like saving money?

  • Be sure you sign up for mailing lists at your favorite retailers. This will keep you up to date with the sales they have going on. Worried that this will just clog your inbox? I use Gmail and all of my mailing lists get sorted into my promotions folder. They are often towards the bottom of websites.

  • I typically shop over the weekend or during any given holiday. Sales are always happening. Also, if you Google the phrase “sales by month” you’ll find the best time of year to buy an item.

  • Promo codes are soooooo important! You typically will find them at the top of a retailer’s website. Also, Google “promo codes” because sometimes you’ll find some hidden gems that aren’t advertised. If you don’t see any promo codes at all, wait a few days to make your purchase. The money you save will be worth the wait.

  • Loyalty and rewards memberships are usually free to sign up for. You will often get free shipping, gift cards, points towards future purchases, or even a free gift on your birthday!

  • If you aren’t using the Ibotta app you are seriously missing out. I try to pay through Ibotta whenever I can. You get a percentage back when you do this and the money you save goes towards future gift cards! Be sure to click here if you aren’t signed up yet to join my team.

HAPPY SHOPPING (and happy saving)!

Three Cool Ways To Wear A Faux Fur Leopard Print Coat

I have to admit, I love leopard print (almost as much as I love stripes and polka dots). When I saw this Cupcakes and Cashmere Tinsley Faux Fur Leopard Coat on Bloomingdale’s website I knew I had to have it. Also, I got it wayyyyyyyy on sale…which makes it even better. The good news for you is that you can get it for 15% off (when you use the code SAVEMORE at checkout). In addition to their promo code I made sure to use my loyalty reward card (it’s free to sign up) and I paired my Bloomingdale’s Ibotta discount.

LOOK #1

I’m starting off by keeping it casual, comfy, and quirky. I paired my coat with some matching flats in the same print. Throwing on some cut offs over tights and a bold red lip elevates this simple style.

LOOK #2

I feel that this outfit is still casual but slightly sophisticated. I pair my skinny jeans with a polka dot top and some laced up booties. Add on a velvet puffy headband and it pulls the entire look together.

LOOK #3

This last look totally stands out. Pair a full skirt, a thin turtleneck, bright tights, and bold booties for a style that is sure to get you noticed.

I got it in a medium and would say it’s true to size. I can’t wait for the bitter cold to end so I can wear it soon. It’s been crazy cold in NYC and only a long puffy jacket will do at the moment (this coat isn’t super heavy). Looking forward to wearing this next week!

What do you guys think of this coat? Are you as in love with it as I am?

On Thanksgiving We Wear Velvet

I’ve been wearing tee shirts and leggings a little too much lately that I thought that today (Thanksgiving) would be the perfect day to dress up a little.

I wanted to dress up but still feel cozy. This velvet dress I picked up at Zara years ago is so perfect. It almost looks like a robe (maybe it is one?!) and I adore this shade of plum. The bell sleeves, geometric pattern, and tie detail give me all the ‘70s vibes I can handle.

I’m all for dressing up today but not for doing my hair. Can ya tell? HAHA! It was raining all morning long…so I had to pick my battles.

I wanted to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. My husband and I are staying home this year and having a Thanksgiving feast alone. We still have been avoiding people (you know, pandemic and all). We’ve decided to make ham instead of turkey and have a zillion sides. Just looking forward to a relaxing and yummy day. Also…if you haven’t seen I posted my homemade cranberry sauce recipe on my IG. So stop by and check it out.

What are your plans today?

Seasons Change

Every day it’s starting to feel more and more like fall. The leaves are changing and the air is crisp. It’s the perfect time of year for a casual and cuddly look.

Late October/early November is probably my favorite time of year. As excited as I am for it to be here already it’s making me wish time would slow down a bit. The year 2020 is flying by…and that’s probably a good thing (hello worst year ever!)…but I feel like when it flies by and nothing really happens it makes me feel so unproductive! So this weekend I’m going to try to do a few things to make me feel like I’m getting something accomplished. Isn’t that what weekends are for anyway?

My plans for this weekend include:

  • cleaning the apartment (typical weekend chores)

  • napping (maybe even more typical!)

  • cooking up some yummy fall food…okay let’s be real, Chris is cooking and I’ll just be eating. Some things I’m excited that he’s making are a butternut squash soup and a mushroom & leek bread. YUM!!!

  • taking care of poor Rocko’s allergies…his skin is a mess this time of year

  • folding a few more drawers the Marie Kondo way

  • reading a few more chapters of my book. It’s been my new year’s resolution to read one book a month which I was able to easily stick to.

  • get excited for the Biden/Harris texting training I’m taking on Monday so I can be part of their texting team. So excited to help get the word out to vote. We voted absentee a few days ago…more about that on my IG soon

What are you all up to this weekend? Try to get out a little and enjoy this weather…and PLEASE wear a mask! Again, these are the ones I have been wearing that I absolutely love. The masks with the adjustable ear straps are a game changer in my humble opinion.
