Trend Alert: Casual Sneakers

To be 100% honest, I'm not a sneaker kind of gal. Never have been. However, over the last year or so I have been kind of obsessed with casual sneakers that I can pair with dresses. Living in NYC you walk a lot...and flimsy, summer sandals just don't cut it if you're walking more than a few blocks. One: your feet hurt, and two: your feet get so dirty. Trust me, it's gross.

Here are a few of my favorite causal sneakers that I think we all need in our closet...

I actually just picked up a basic pair of black Vans yesterday that I already can't get enough of. I know I'll be wearing them all summer and fall. They are so cute!

Keep It Simple

I'm all about keeping my looks simple. But simple doesn't have to mean boring! Adding in a piece that is interesting makes the world of difference.

Take this look for instance. Super simple "S"ummer uniform: sunglasses, sundress, and sandals. But I think we can all agree this isn't boring. The sunglasses are cat eyed, the sundress has ruffles and cutout details, and the sandals are studded.

I also think it is important to add in a pop of color to a pretty basic black outfit...or really any monochromatic looking outfit no matter what that color might be. Pops of color just make a look seem that much more interesting. Sometimes I personally find this difficult as I really do love to wear all black all the time.

Summer Wish List

With summer literally around the corner I have come to the realization that my closet is not prepared. That being said, I have been doing a lot of virtual window shopping...and my list of "wants" is getting quite long. Here are some of top favorites...

This rainbow stripe button-front tank top available at Madewell screams summer to me. Paired with jeans, shorts, or a midi-skirt...it's summer perfection.

I have been lusting over these sandals from Seven All Around for some time now. They are available in eight different colors...but the dusty pink pair has won over my heart.

There is nothing more summer to me than a flowing maxi dress. I'm 100% in love with this Les Arcades Dress from Anthropologie. Don't you just love the colors and details on it?

These Caitlin // Chloe TWOOBS sandals are just fantastic. Comfy, tall, and full of sparkles. You could literally wear these with just about anything!

Give me a quirky bag and call it a day! I love purses that are fun and make you smile, just like this California Dreaming Surf 3D Van purse available at Kate Spade.

I adore a romper in during the summer time. The look of a dress with the ease of shorts! I am loving this Floral and Polka Dot Jumpsuit from Zara.

Springtime in the City

Are you guys ready? Snapshot Fashion is getting back in the habit of posting outfit photos. Every year when winter hits I kind of like to hibernate...but now spring has sprung and I'm getting outdoors to shoot some fun looks!

A cute skirt, pair of fun shoes, some sunglasses, and denim jacket always looks super adorable in my eyes. So simple, yet so perfect. It really is a look anyone can pull off.

I actually really, really love this outfit. Sometimes I get so shy about wearing these bold pink metallic booties, but they work so well with this skirt! Even the cashier at Starbucks told me, "your outfit is life." Sometimes I really love the people. Even though they were out of matcha and I left there empty handed, his compliment made my day.

Also, that wind is really not my friend when I'm wearing a circle skirt like this. Yikes!

Canadian Tuxedo

Happy weekend everyone! If you're like me you are spending the majority of the day out enjoying this sunshine and warm weather while sneezing your brains out (ugh the allergies are hurting me!). This morning I went for a nice long walk throughout Greenpoint with Chris and Rocko before the neighborhood got too overly crowded on this fine Saturday.

Dressed in my finest denim pairing, don't ya think? I don't think I've worn a Canadian Tuxedo since I have 10 years old...but I kind of love this. I just picked up this denim jacket from Zara the other day. The distressed seams are my favorite part of this piece!
